Support the RVA Maker Community
The RVA MakerFest is an interactive celebration of creativity and ingenuity in Richmond. RVA MakerFest brings together a wide spectrum of local innovators and hobbyists, with free, hands-on demonstrations in science, art, technology, engineering, sustainability, food, music, crafts, fashion, and more.
Volunteers will help makers load in and out and serve as liaisons to the makers, answer questions, check in sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, direct attendees to the outside portion of the event, and direct sponsors and Makers’ vehicle traffic.
Volunteers will ride The Richmond Trolley around the designated RVA MakerFest loop and help riders make LED throwies (an LED taped to a coin cell battery) to add to the “LOVE” sign that will be on the front lawn of the Science Museum. At the beer truck, volunteers over 21 will check IDs & hand out wristbands to attendees, check wristbands and pour beer.
Volunteers help create a positive experience for both makers and event guests. Because of the number of makers and expected guests, volunteers are crucial to the success of the RVA MakerFest. A special shirt will be provided to volunteers so makers and guests can distinguish you. Please indicate if you are interested in being a Volunteer Lead.
This opportunity is a referral and is managed by RVA MakerFest directly. Please express interest below to indicate to the agency your interest in participating.
All volunteers who plan to attend must express interest. This includes youth. If the post indicates adults must be present, youth and adults must register using the team functionality.
