Memorial Regional Medical Center Healing Garden
Tricycle Gardens, in partnership with Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, maintains a Memorial Courtyard Garden at the hospital. This expansive garden is nestled next to the cancer wing, allowing beautiful views for patients, and a quiet, reflective space for patients, staff, and visitors alike. Fresh vegetables and herbs are grown here for use in the hospital cafeteria. The area needs maintenance year round to be visually beautiful in all seasons.
Volunteers are needed for year round garden work to keep the garden stunning and productive. This may include planting new seeds, harvesting vegetables, weeding, composting, trimming plants, dead-heading flowers, watering, training vines, sweeping, raking, and more. Seasonal activities may include moving small shrubs and fruit trees or adding additional soil to raised beds.
Wear loose layers & bring garden gloves and any garden hand tools you have like a trowel, weeding tool, etc. Most tools will be provided but bring it you have something you like to use. BE SURE to consult the parking and special directions in your "My Account" once you register.
All volunteers who plan to attend must be registered. This includes youth. If the post indicates adults must be present, youth and adults must register using the team functionality. To learn more about our team functionality, please view our Volunteer with a Group page.
