Makin' Mason Pretty: George Mason Elementary
CIS of Richmond's mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. GMES is eager to support our staff and students to achieve excellence. Volunteers will build a compost bin outside and mulch the grounds. They will touch up murals from last year that have been affected by weather and create signage for the school's recycling program.
Volunteers will:
If allowed on the project, any youth volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a parent-signed youth waiver to the project. The waiver can be found after sign up on the confirmation page or by visiting our Volunteer with Youth page.
Volunteers will:
- Touch up, seal, and protect murals
- Mulch landscape
- Build compost bin
- Assist with establishing signage for recycling program
- Assist with other teacher tasks
There will be parking available on the street or in the parking lot. Volunteers should wear work clothes appropriate for landscaping.
This project will still occur if it rains. The tasks may differ somewhat.
