Opportunity Details

2014 Bacon Festival

The Enrichmond Foundation has been supporting our City's parks, recreational activities, and cultural arts for nearly 25 years. We support over 60 dedicated citizen-based, volunteer driven, partners and projects, all in almost every neighborhood of the City. Our partners' vital contributions include everything from bike and running trail maintenance and development, tree adoption, community gardens, Festival of the Arts in Dogwood Dell, First Tee, Central Virginia Soccer Association, Friends groups for every park including Byrd, Chimborazo, Meadow, and Battery Park, to dog parks like Northside, Barker Field, Church Hill, and many more.

One exciting way we provide support for our partners and their efforts is through working with great special events- like the the 2014 Bacon Festival! By volunteering with us you are directly assisting over 60 community based volunteer efforts like Friends of Byrd Park maintain the Vita Course; Battery Park clean up from a hurricane; plant/replace trees along our beautiful streets and open spaces; clean up the James River and it's many tributaries; provide equipment to youth athletics in neighborhoods of need; or give 'man's best friend' a great place to play.

There are various volunteer opportunities for folks of all ages. If you are 21 or older, you can be part of the Enrichmond Brew Crew for this event. Help pour beer and staff the beer trucks throughout the event. Or maybe you'd like to help us make sure that we are a strong Virginia Certified Green Event by managing and educating about recycling and compost. This is a great opportunity to get involved and have a wonderful time doing it! There will be two shifts available, so encourage friends and family to join in the fun.

1st shift is 10am 'til 2:30pm
2nd shift is 2:30pm 'til 6pm
Or, stay all day!

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you will be up on your feet and moving around throughout your shift. Also this project will not occur if it rains; Enrichmond Foundation will notify volunteers the status of the project if rain becomes an issue.
