Winter the Golf Garden

Tricycle Gardens mission is to grow healthy food, healthy communities and a healthy local food system. Volunteers are needed for garden clean up/prep for winter at Tricycle Garden's Midlothian location at Independence Golf Club in the Founder's Bridge neighborhood. This garden is used to teach kids about garden ecology, growing their own food, harvesting fresh food & hands on experience with maintaining an edible garden. The food is used by the chefs in the two restaurants on the Golf Course, and to the Forechildren golf camp attendees and counselors over the summer months.

Tasks: Raised beds weeded and seeded with cover crops, wood chips spread around garden and cleaning, storing of all tools and equipment for the winter. All compostable debris will be saved in a compost area to overwinter and create new soil for next year's beds.
All volunteers who plan to attend must be registered. This includes youth. If the post indicates adults must be present, youth and adults must register using the team functionality. To learn more about our team functionality, please view our Volunteer with a Group page.
