Bilingual Computer Lab Volunteer

The Sacred Heart Center is a non-profit community center serving the Hispanic community. Our mission is to create a hub for Richmond’s Latino community that opens opportunities for economic and social integration, family success, and community leadership. We are looking for bilingual volunteers to help in the computer lab in the evenings. GED students will come in for tutoring help in Math or Social Studies and to do practice tests. They may need help logging into gedonline.org. English language learners come in to use websites like USA Learns, Newsela and others that the teachers want to use to better the language skills of their students. Students may want to learn basic computer skills like searching on the internet, Microsoft applications and setting up social media or Skype. Some of the tasks will be giving the students access to laptop, headset & a mouse; helping students register and log in to websites, helping with any problems that occur with the computers and making sure everything is locked away. The computer lab assistant should be able to speak English & Spanish.

This opportunity is a referral and is managed by Sacred Heart Center directly. Please express interest below to indicate to the agency your interest in participating.

**Please note, your attendance hours may not be recorded in your HandsOn Greater Richmond account since this is a partner-managed opportunity.
