Featured DIY - Summer Camp Snacks
Organizational Beneficiary: Peter Paul Development Center Peter Paul Development Center is an outreach and community center serving Church Hill and neighboring communities in Richmond’s East End. Its mission is to build a community of learners by engaging and challenging children, families and seniors through programs that enhance academic achievement, provide cultural enrichment, and promote self-esteem and lifelong self-sufficiency. PPDC knows that academics cannot stop during the summer months. The Summer Promise program provides nearly 200 students with a wide variety of educational and cultural activities and field trips that ensure their continued education. Take-home snacks are provided to every child when they leave every day.
DIY Volunteers will craft fun and creative bags filled with healthy, prepackaged snacks.
Supplies*:
- 10 paper lunch bags
- Healthy, pre-packaged snacks
- Cardstock/construction paper

Markets, paint, washi tape, stickers, ink stamps, etc
How To: 1. Sign up for the project by clicking the button below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams. 2. Review the instructions and supply list. 3. DIY! We ask that each participant creates 10 decorated bags with pre-packaged snacks. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours for any DIY project. 4. Bring your completed DIY to the HandsOn office. Our office is open Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 am - 5 pm. Confirmed participants will receive 3 hours for submitting materials prior to 5pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Bring your completed DIY Report Form when you drop off your DIY.
