3rd Shift: Clean Up and Dish Team

Red Door Ministry at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church responds to the needs of hunger and homelessness in the Greater Richmond Area by feeding approximately 100 individuals every week at our Friday lunch. You can help cook a well-balanced meal, set up the parish hall for lunch, serve the meal to our guests, and/or clean up the church afterward. You help provide a healthy, safe, and supportive environment, which puts smiles on our guests' faces. Thank you!

  • No kitchen experience is necessary; we will teach you, but any experience is welcome

  • Anyone 14 years old and over is welcome to serve, however, ages 14-16 require an adult chaperone

  • Arrive on time at 2pm (arriving late may result in all available assignments being given to punctual volunteers)

  • Dress appropriately, ready to move and work hard, by wearing closed-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves, and no loose clothing

  • Sign in and sign out on the iPad outside of the kitchen to record hours (especially for work, school, court, or another organization)

If you cannot attend for any reason please remove yourself from the sign-up so that individuals who are on the waitlist will have the opportunity to serve. We have a lot of volunteers on the waitlist who would happily come in and serve if you are unable to.

Grace and Holy Trinity Church has limited parking, so we encourage you to walk, take public transit, or ride-share. However, for parking your vehicle, please park in the alleyway between the church and Altria Theater off of Cherry Street. Look for the Grace and Holy Trinity Church bus and parking spots marked with a blue bumper. Do not park in the fire lanes or VCU-dedicated parking spots.

You can enter the church through the office entrance on Laurel Street up the ramp or through the glass doors behind the church and across from VCU and church parking spaces off of Cherry Street. Ring the bell and say that you are volunteering with Red Door Ministry.
