Paint Out Pollution Storm Drain Painting in Hopewell Lead Artist
**Saturday, July 29th Event Cancelled.**
Event will now happen on the Raindate. Saturday, August 5th at 9am
Did you know that storm water, or rainwater that runs off hard surfaces such as rooftops, streets and parking lots, represents the fastest growing source of pollution in the James River?
A Lead Artist is needed for Paint Out Pollution: a project to increase awareness of storm water pollution and celebrate the native flora and fauna that call the James River home. Richmond artists created stencils to be used to install art on storm drains. Volunteers will use the stencils to install art on storm drains throughout downtown Hopewell.
Volunteers will meet one date before the event to learn the process and lead a group of six volunteers to paint the drain. Each team will paint two drains throughout the course of the event.
For the training meeting, volunteers will meet at the Art on Wheels studio on Tuesday, July 25th at 5:30 PM. The event will take place in Downtown Hopewell between Randolph and Appomattox streets and Main and Hopewell streets on Saturday, July 29th. (Rain date Saturday, August 5th)
Wear weather appropriate clothing you do not mind getting paint on.
