Become a Partner
HandsOn Greater Richmond, a program of the Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence (PNE), builds collaborative partnerships with nonprofits, schools and other community organizations to create real change through community involvement, volunteerism and service.
As a partner, your organization can gain access to our growing community of volunteers, post volunteer opportunities online, and work with our trained volunteer leaders who can help manage your projects. We also provide volunteer management training resources.
Are you a Nonprofit Looking to Partner with us for the First Time?
By becoming a HandsOn nonprofit partner, you have many resources at your fingertips! So what do they include?
- We are here to connect you with volunteers of all type. Whether you have one-time projects or on-going volunteer needs, you can advertise your volunteer opportunities to the thousands of volunteers who visit our website.
- Once you've been trained on how to use the site, you can post your Volunteer Classifieds (Referrals) to our searchable database, where volunteers can search postings by interest, skills, keyword, age, and more! We made 3500 referrals to our agency partners in 2011!
- If you'd like assistance with planning a project, managing volunteers, and having a recurring project with us, let's talk about our HandsOn Managed (Volunteer Leader) Projects. We'll work to place one of our trained volunteer leaders on the project to help support you and the volunteers.
- Interested in working with corporate volunteers? Our HandsOn@Work program identifies and develops one-time projects for our corporate partners. These projects often come with larger groups and supply dollars.
- Need well-trained, effective board members? Check out our BoardLink program and database.
How to Become a Nonprofit Partner:
1) Make sure you're eligible! We work with 501(c)(3) nonprofits, community-based agencies, schools, and government organizations. Be sure to read our Partnership Policy and Project Types.2) Confirm that your organization isn't already a partner. It's possible that someone else from your organization has already created a profile for you. Check our Nonprofit Partner Directory to make sure your organization is not already listed as an Active partner. If you find your organization on the list, or if you are pretty sure your organization has been a partner in the past (but is perhaps no longer active), contact us so that we can reactivate your account and/or add you as a contact for your organization.
3) Register your organization in our system by clicking the Sign Up/Registration link at the top left of the page. We will be in touch once we review your application to move forward with solidifying the partnership. We'll determine your needs and have you attend our next Agency Training on how to post to our website or discuss your potential HandsOn Managed Project.
We also encourage you to learn about additional services you can receive from the other PNE programs: Nonprofit Learning Point, ConnectRichmond, and Consulting Solutions.
