In 2006, we began as Activate Richmond, started by three women who had a vision and a passion for service. One year later, we officially became HandsOn Greater Richmond, an affiliate of the HandsOn Network. Today we are a staff of six, directing projects that generate more than 15,500 volunteer hours each year!
 

Your donation makes is possible for us to continue to serve the hundreds of nonprofit, school, community, and government partners in the Richmond region.
 

Yearly we connect more than 7000 volunteers in metro Richmond to nonprofits in need. While giving your time is free, there IS a cost to volunteering.

• provide supplies for a nonprofit to host a MLK Day project
• maintain our website to provide easy, organized volunteer opportunities in one place
• engage youth in a week-long service camp
• train nonprofit agencies on best practices in volunteer management
