Featured DIY - Easter Egg Hunt
Organizational Beneficiary: Peter Paul Development Center & Housing Families First Impact: Peter Paul Development Center is an outreach and community center serving Church Hill and neighboring communities in Richmond’s East End. It is the oldest community-based agency continually serving Church Hill children and families. PPDC gives children a safe, consistent, structured, and loving environment in which to thrive. Housing Families provides families experiencing homelessness the tools to achieve housing stability. The goal is not only to assist families in finding permanent housing, but also to ensure that each family has access to the supportive services necessary to achieve long term housing stability. Both of these organizations coordinate an annual Easter egg hunt and need assistance getting eggs ready for the children to find. DIY volunteers will assemble plastic Easter eggs and provide Easter baskets that will be used in the events, bringing some fun and joy to the children and their families. How To: 1. Sign up for the project by clicking the button below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams. 2. Review the instructions and supply list in the links below. 3. DIY! We ask that you fill 30-40 Easter eggs and provide 2 baskets. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours for any DIY project. 4. Bring your completed DIY to the HandsOn office. Our office is open Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 am - 5 pm. Confirmed participants will receive 3 hours for submitting materials prior to 5pm, Friday, April 7, 2017.
