J.E.B. Stuart Elementary - Super Snack Distribution
Richmond Public Schools (RPS) is participating in Virginia 365 Project to End Childhood Hunger. Did you know that 1 in 6 kids in Virginia struggle with hunger? We need your support to help combat childhood hunger! Each weekday, children at designated RPS schools will receive a “Super Snack” prior to dismissal. Volunteers will pack a designated amount of “Super Snacks” into insulated bags for delivery to each classroom. The insulated bags will be delivered to each classroom accompanied with a trash bag for easy trash disposal. After distribution, the volunteers will return to the classrooms to pick up any remaining “Super Snacks” and the insulated bags. Trash will be discarded into trash cans conveniently located in the hallways. The remaining “Super Snacks” will be returned to the cafeteria and counted by RPS staff. Volunteers should be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
Attire: Closed toed comfortable shoes (no heels), long pants and/or skirts and collared or plain shirts. All clothing should be comfortable and wearable to perform manual labor that may obtain dust or spills due to the handling of food products and boxes.
Parking: Street parking is available.
Other: Please do not sign up for every opportunity. There are limited spots available to volunteer and we do not accept volunteers who do not register through the HandsOn Greater Richmond website.
