Featured DIY - Dental Kits

MOORE STREET, RICHMOND, VA 23230 DROP OFF DAYS/TIMES: MONDAY, DECEMBER 17TH, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Impact: The clinic provides access to medical care for low-income and uninsured residents of Goochland. The goal is to give patients a dental hygiene kit when they come for a dental visit. Last year, 474 patients came for 799 visits in the Dental Clinic. Directions: Fill ziptop plastic bag with the supplies listed below. Write an encouraging note for each bag. Each volunteer should make 5 bags. Supplies:
- an individually wrapped toothbrush (We are unable to distribute unwrapped toothbrushes, so we can’t use bulk packages of toothbrushes.)
- toothpaste
- dental floss
- a friendly note of encouragement
Volunteers should make a minimum of 5 bags. How To: 1. Sign up for the project by clicking the button below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams. 2. Review the instructions and supply list. 3. DIY! We ask that each participant make 5 dental kits and 5 inspirational cards. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours for any DIY project. 4. Bring your completed DIY to the NEW HandsOn office (3409 W. Moore Street, Richmond, Va 23230) Monday, December 17th between 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm OR December 18th between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Confirmed participants will receive 3 hours for submitting materials within these drop off times. No DIY form is needed.
