Featured DIY - Hygiene Kits
PLEASE NOTE: DIY DROP-OFF HAS CHANGED. DO NOT DROP OFF AT THE BOULDERS, OUR OFFICES HAVE MOVED. DROP OFF AT NEW OFFICES: 3409 W. MOORE STREET, RICHMOND, VA 23230 DROP OFF DAYS/TIMES: MONDAY, DECEMBER 17TH, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Impact: The clinic provides access to medical care for low-income and uninsured residents of Goochland. When patients come for a flu shot or medical services, they can also take home a hygiene kit. Directions: Fill ziptop plastic bag with the supplies listed below. Write an encouraging note for each bag. Each volunteer should make 5 bags. Supplies (travel or regular size):
- hand sanitizer
- liquid or bar soap
- tissues
- shampoo
- hand lotion
- feminine hygiene products: maxipads or tampons
- a note of encouragement
Volunteers should make a minimum of 5 bags. How To: 1. Sign up for the project by clicking the button below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams. 2. Review the instructions and supply list. 3. DIY! We ask that each participant make 5 hygiene kits and 5 inspirational cards. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours for any DIY project. 4. Bring your completed DIY to the NEW HandsOn office (3409 W. Moore Street, Richmond, Va 23230) Monday, December 17th between 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm OR December 18th between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Confirmed participants will receive 3 hours for submitting materials within these drop off times. No DIY form is needed.
