Friendly Visiting
Visiting Volunteers is a free, volunteer-based friendly visiting program that provides companionship, outreach, and advocacy to lonely and isolated individuals in the community. Through regular friendly visits in the home with seniors and persons with disabilities, we strive to meet the social and emotional needs of some of our most vulnerable citizens, and help them to live safely in their own homes for as long as possible.
Become a visiting volunteer and help build social supports among older adults and persons with disabilities. This unique one-on-one volunteer experience gives you the opportunity to personally connect, engage and advocate. The commitment is big but the rewards are huge - not just for your older friend but for you as well. Weekly visits are scheduled when it works best for you and your friend.
Requirements include: need to be 18 (or volunteer with a parent), a year-long a commitment, submit application materials, attend volunteer training, and a pass background check.
