Video Editing Volunteer
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond's Mission - To empower young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances to succeed in life.
Purpose of Volunteer Position: To be a resource to the video editing club. Your main project focus in to help members (youth) develop a 20-minute video capturing their summer experiences with BGCMR.
Time / Location / Reports to
- Fridays (anytime between 9:00am - 4:00pm) June 21st – August 2nd
- Petersburg Club - 816 E. Bank Street, Petersburg, VA 23803
- Reports to Community Relations Manager to become a volunteer with BGCMR and then will have a meet & greet with staff at club.
Responsibilities
- Introduce Members to video editing software (BGCMR does not currently have video editing software)
- Following all safety instructions set by the staff
- Meet with members at least 2 hours/week
- Help members plan, develop, and edit content for 20-minute video
Qualifications
- Good organization and attention to detail
- Ability to get along with people and maintain a positive, constructive attitude
- Ability to protect the mission, goals and values of the organization
- Knowledge of video editing software
- Ability to work with youth between the ages of 13-18 years of age
- Ability to motivate/teach youth to make/produce a video
- Able to pass a background check and have an interview with the a staff memeber to determine details about the summer program
Training / Support
- Additional information will be provided onsite
Expectations
- Arrive on time with a great attitude, always ready to begin volunteering
- Attend an information session with the Community Relations Manager
- Be able to make a commitment to BGCMR on the above responsibilities and needs of the club
- Assist members in finishing a 20-minute video before August 2nd 2019.
- This is a summer only program. Summer Starts June 17th – August 2nd
