CAFI AMBASSADORS

CAFI ambassadors will represent the organization and its mission while engaging with individuals in the community at CAFI events and the CAFI Resource Center. A CAFI ambassador will show respect, integrity, and helpfulness to all persons served by the organization.


Orientation and Training: The Volunteer coordinator gives orientation and training. Orientation will be held quarterly or when new volunteers are being assigned.


Responsibilities:

  • Attend assigned events to provide supervision of the facility. This includes opening the facility and locking facility after the assigned event.

  • Ensure unauthorized areas are secure while events are occurring in the facility.

  • Ensure the facility is clean after the event. This includes trash removal; swept floors, clean tables and any materials used are put away. If items need to be replenished such as toilet paper for bathrooms and paper towels.

  • Confirm events that are scheduled are on the calendar and update any changes.

  • Ensure guest sign-in and out or have registration list of attendees from the sponsor of the event.

  • Ensure that materials for the event are made available either by CAFI or the Sponsor of the event (i.e. food, drinks, arts and crafts, paper, table, chairs etc.).

  • May be assigned to events outside of the facility as a vendor to promote the organization. This will include setting up the table, having display materials, brochures, selling organizational paraphernalia ( i.e. hats, shirts, etc.).

  • Greeting guests

Outcomes/Goals:

  • Ensure guest have a successful event.

  • Ensure the safety and security of the property.

  • Ensure materials are replenished if needed.

  • Ensure the facility is clean.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to take direction and partner with CAFI staff to complete assignments

  • Ability to respond with a high degree of urgency to the needs and requests of others, internally and externally.

  • Participate as a team member and complete assignments independently, as appropriate

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Schedule: Volunteers will be assigned as events are being scheduled. Hours may vary depending on the event. A typical event maybe 4 to 8 hours.


Time commitment:  A minimum of 4 hours per week of volunteer service is expected for this position. This assignment is ongoing. The position assignment is for one year. The commitment may extend dependent on the need of the organization and the performance of the volunteer.
