Capital Trees - Great Shiplock Park Summer Shape Up

When you are volunteering, please follow these tips for healthy volunteering. HandsOn Greater Richmond emphasizes the importance of following CDC guidance.

Kick off your Saturday morning on August 20 from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. by helping in the gardens at Great Shiplock Park as we prep for fall! Efforts will be focused largely on weeding and deadheading. We welcome all participants whether this is your first time or you have volunteered with Capital Trees before. No garden experience is necessary as we will have trained garden experts there to help along the way.

Gloves and tools will be available to borrow, but if you have them feel free to bring your favorite garden gloves or weeding tool. We will meet at the stretch of lawn on the left side of the park.

There is no access to running water so please bring a water bottle with you. We also recommend close-toed shoes and the use of bug spray and sunscreen.

Parking is available at Great Shiplock Park (2803 Dock Street). Additional free street parking is also available on the street just past the park towards Rocketts Landing.
