Saturday, September 11 Day of Service - Parks & Recreation Event

When you are volunteering, please follow these tips for healthy volunteering. HandsOn Greater Richmond emphasizes the importance of following CDC guidance.

On Saturday, September 11, 2021 the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities will host service events in parks including the James River Park System and Patrick Henry Park.  Please visit this page to sign up with James River Parks, or volunteer at Patrick Henry Park in Richmond's Church Hill by signing up for the event below!

At Patrick Henry Park we will be spreading mulch which helps keep trees healthy.  There will be 10 cubic yards of mulch, so we will be looking for energetic volunteers to help wheelbarrow it to tree wells and planter beds.  Please join us from 11 am - 1 pm on Saturday, September 11th.  Bring a personal water bottle and gloves.  Tools will be provided.  This park does not have a public restroom, however there are local businesses that will be open and do have facilities.

The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
