Merry Market at Maymont 2022
Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park, located in Richmond, Virginia, with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Over 800,000 guests per year visit to see the gardens and arboretum, to tour the historic Maymont Mansion, to learn about the James River ecosystem at The Robins Nature Center, or to encounter native Virginia wildlife and farm animals in their habitats. Thousands come to Maymont for seasonal events, educational programs and to celebrate special moments in our rental spaces.
Since 1975, Maymont has been maintained and operated by the nonprofit Maymont Foundation. With a small staff, we rely on volunteers to help us create experiences that delight, educate and inspire all our guests. Whether you can give a few days a year or a few hours each week, your contribution will help this historic estate to thrive. And few organizations offer such a wide variety of volunteer opportunities!
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Ring in the holiday season at Maymont’s Merry Market, Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3. Gather on the Carriage House Lawn under twinkling holiday lights to enjoy a cup of cheer and live music while shopping for unique holiday gifts from 50 local artisans and vendors. Snap a pic with Saint Nicholas, find something tasty at the festive holiday bar, and warm up around cozy fire pits, while the kids make their own gifts and decorations in the crafts tent.
Roles will include: Set up support, Check In, Bar/ABC (over 21), Crafts and helping out with St. Nick and the Mansion
Age Minimum (with Adult): 11+, Minimum Age:15+
