Urban Gardening and Maintenance With A Twist of FUN
Brief Organizational Description:
Edens Garden is an Urban Farm dedicated to provding freshly grown vegetables to the Broad Rock and Richmond Communities.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers are needed to assist in maintaining the garden.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Our volunteers do a varity of task to maintain the garden by weeding, planting seeds and plants, watering and harvesting vegetables. All while enjoying the fruits of their labor (a little taste here and there).
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No experience needed, but knowledge of gardening is a plus.
Time Commitment:
Tuesdays and Thursdays. 8:30 am til 11:00 am
Other Information (if applicable):
- Attendance is marked in system or if you need to bring a volunteer log to record your time, present it to the Garden Manager at end of each day for signature.
- Recommended attire: loose clothing, closed toe shoes, hat to shed the sun.
- Parking information: parking on the side of the garden.
- Volunteers are asked to bring their own water.
- The garden is located on the left side of Second Baptist Church at 3300 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, VA 23224.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
