Tree Stewards Belle Isle Brush Clearing
The mission of Richmond’s trained, volunteer Tree Stewards is to promote and improve the health of city trees to assure the city’s forest will survive and thrive. This is accomplished by increasing public awareness through community education, planning and planting for the future, and providing maintenance and care for young trees on streets and in parks. Tree Stewards work closely with Urban Forestry and with other organizations interested in the health of our community forest. Day of Service activities will include a clean up and brush clearing on Belle Isle. Bring water, wear hat & shoes with closed toes — no flip-flops or sandals. Strongly suggest long sleeves and pants (not knit) as we will likely be working in brush. We have gloves & tools. See your My Account for detailed location instructions. This project is a part of Enrichmond Foundation's 24th Earth Day Richmond Celebration, Central Virginia’s premiere and longest running Earth Day event.
