Lunch Buddy

Volunteers are needed to help adults with disabilities enjoy lunch at Estes Dining Hall on the campus of Randolph Macon College as part of Hanover County Parks and  Recreation's Community Connection Club.  Volunteers will help participants walk from club meeting location in Duncan Memorial Church to the campus dining hall as well as navigate through the serving line, help them carry food tray, as well as engage in appropriate conversation. Some participants may need encouragement to make healthy choices in their meal selection. Please note that the dining hall does not have an actual street address, but is located across the street from the campus library (McGraw-Page Library). Volunteers must pay for own lunch if interested in eating lunch as well. Lunch cost is about $8.75. Parking can be limited on campus so please refer to the Randolph Macon College map for parking locations.

If you are also interested in volunteering for the Community Connection Club meeting prior to lunch, please let us know. The club meeting runs from about 9:45-11:45am.

This opportunity is a referral and is managed by Hanover Parks and Rec directly. Please express interest below to indicate to the agency your interest in participating.

All volunteers who plan to attend must express interest, either as an individual, or via the team functionality. This includes youth.

To learn more about our Team Functionality, please view our Volunteer With a Group page, under Ways to Volunteer.

**Please note, your attendance hours may not be recorded in your HandsOn Greater Richmond account since this is a partner-managed opportunity.
