CLOSED DIY Happy Wheels Activity Packs
Registration for all DIY projects is now closed. Participate in Give a Day RVA without having to go anywhere September 23. DIY volunteering is something you can make or do at home to benefit a local nonprofit. Issue: Family Services Purpose: Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Richmond, VA is a non-profit organization that provides a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families. Circumstances that bring families there are unfortunate, challenging and often times tragic. Amidst the uncertainties and fears they face, they offer respite, normalcy, compassion and love. These Activity packs are handed out from the Happy Wheels Cart in the pediatric units of St. Mary's Hospital and he Children's Pavilion at VCU and will help lighten the spirits of the families and children in local hospitals. Directions: Activity packs should include 3-5 small items such as: • coloring book • crayons • puzzle book • activity book • other interactive items All items must be appropriate for children to use in the hospital. All items must be in a clear, gallon-sized Ziploc bag. Volunteers should make at least 10 packs but no more than 30. Deadline and Delivery: 1) Registration will close by Monday morning, Sept 18 2) Sign up yourself or your team below 3) You will receive the address once you register. Deliver items to the HandsOn Office at any of these times: Wed, Sept 20, 5-7pm Thurs, Sept 21, 5-7pm Fri, Sept 22, 12-2pm 4) Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams. Registered participants will receive 4 hours for submitting materials as noted above.
