Fighting Creek Trail Preservation
Conduct maintenance on the Fighting Creek walking trail to preserve the aesthetic nature of the trail and provide a safe, convenient place to promote health and wellness of the citizenry. Work will including cutting back trail overhang, laying gravel, and scrubbing tree sap from playground equipment. Volunteer tasks: weeding, trimming, raking, moving gravel, cleaning playground equipment. Volunteers should bring their own water, and if working outside: sunscreen and bug spray. Wear long pants, long sleeves, closed toed shoes. Bring gloves if you have them. Parking for volunteers is available at the Library. This project will be CANCELLED in advance in the event of rain. Volunteers will be notified by Wed, Sept 20, if the project is cancelled.This project is a part of our regional day of service, Give a Day RVA. Registration will close 24 hours in advance.
