Remove Invasive Plants

We are a group of volunteers who enjoy and appreciate Forest Hill Park and all it has to offer. Our goals include preserving the park’s amenities by encouraging and demonstrating sensible management and enhancing the park area with projects such as invasive plant removal and erosion control.

Volunteers will remove English ivy and Japanese honeysuckle which are non-native, invasive species. This will allow native plants and trees to thrive, thereby providing food and homes to native animals, birds and insects.

Wear clothing for working outside and bring clippers and work gloves if you have them. Tools and water will be provided, but you may also want to bring your own.

This project is part of MLK Day of Service.
