Project Yoga Richmond (PYR) is a 501(c3) non-profit yoga studio that makes yoga accessible and affordable to all through a pay-what-you-can studio and community programs across the Greater Richmond Region. Each time a mat is unrolled with PYR, it provides the benefits of a yoga practice for both yourself and someone else. Founded in 2010, PYR is the region’s only yoga non-profit dedicated to removing the barriers to the practices of yoga and meditation. PYR provides the healing and empowering benefits of regular yoga practice to individuals, regardless of physical or financial ability, including: children and youth; senior citizens; court involved adults; trauma-informed yoga for women (teens and adults); and individuals with special needs. We accomplish this through our pay-what-you-can studio, offering classes 7 days a week that are available to all individuals, regardless of income level. This helps support PYR’s community partnership programs. PYR operates over 20 recurring community programs, partnering with local agencies, schools, and community centers to provide free or low-cost yoga and mindfulness services throughout Greater Richmond.
