Holiday Cards

BeneficiarySupport OneHeart HavensRichmond Residential

Purpose: SupportOne, Heart Havens and Richmond Residential are three area nonprofits that provide residential and community-based support services for adults with intellectual disabilities. HandsOn is partnering with these organizations for December’s DIY project to help make the holidays a little brighter for the clients and residents of these programs. Volunteers will be crafting nondenominational holiday cards that will be distributed to all the adult clients of these programs. So warm up some cider (or mull some wine!), put on some Bing Crosby and get your holiday craft on!

Supply List:*
• Anything to make beautiful holiday cards
• Construction paper, poster board, scrap-booking paper, etc.
• Scissors
• Paint, pens, markers
• Glue
• Glitter
• Stickers
• Stamps and ink pads
• Felt
• The sky’s the limit!

*Volunteers are responsible for purchasing any of the materials needed for DIY opportunities.

How To:
1. Express Interest below in the project to HandsOn. We'll send you instructions and plan for your delivery.
2. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must express interest. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams.
3. Plan the time and place to DIY
4. Once you’ve expressed interest, complete instructions will be sent to you. We ask that you donate a minimum of 10 holiday cards. There is no maximum. Expect the total project to be done in about 2 hours depending on the number of cards made and the number of people you have volunteering with you.

Confirmed participants will receive 2 hours for submitting materials prior to 4:00pm, Monday, December 22, 2014. Please note the early deadline to submit the cards--this is to ensure there is enough time to deliver them before the holidays.
