COVID-19 Community Partner Resource Hub

HandsOn Greater Richmond, a service of the Community Foundation, is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on Greater Richmond. Our top priority is the health and safety of our community.

Following guidance from local leaders and recommendations on social distancing, HandsOn is cancelling all HandsOn managed volunteer projects and programming through April 12, 2020. This includes, but is not limited to, nonprofit trainings, featured DIY projects and civic convenings. Through regular communication with our partners and continued monitoring of the situation in our area, we will consider extending the suspension period if needed.

As the volunteer hub for the Richmond region, we will continue to support projects led by our partner organizations.

  • We will highlight new volunteer opportunities that have emerged in response to COVID-19, including those associated with schools and safety net partners. (These organizations will be reliant on volunteers to deliver essential services during this time.)

  • Partner organizations still will be able to maintain and add postings as they deem appropriate. Contact us at partners@handsonrva.org

The health and safety of our volunteers and the people we serve remains our top priority. If you are hosting an in-person volunteer opportunity, we ask that you follow these guidelines.

As your organization prepares and makes decisions regarding engaging volunteers, we recommend that you follow guidelines set forth by the CDC and VDH. We will continue to add to and update the resources linked below.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff at partners@handsonrva.org with any questions or concerns.
