Young Aces Open
The Mary and Frances Youth Center provides programming and training to enhance the lives of youth in the Richmond metro area. Lobs & Lessons is a youth enrichment program that strengthens life skills, promotes academics and creates a path to higher education through the sport of tennis. The program is in need of volunteers for the 9th annual Young Aces Open event on the VCU Campus, April 24th. Young Aces Open event in partnership with Richmond Public Schools. Work directly with elementary 4th-5th graders as they showcase their tennis skills and sportsmanship in a round robin tennis tournament. You will help youth keep track of their points during the tennis matches and ensure they are having fun and showing good sportsmanship. Over 200 youth participate in this annual event that promotes teamwork and living a healthy lifestyle. No tennis experience required! This event would not be possible without the support of over 80 volunteers throughout the day working with the youth. Date(s) of Volunteer Opportunity: Wednesday, April 17th Time(s) of Volunteer Opportunity: Event Setup: 7:30-9:30am Activity Stations - Shift 1: 9:45am-11:45am Activity Stations – Shift 2: 11:45am-1:45pm Parking on Cary Street or the Cary Street Deck located next to the Cary Street Field. Wear comfortable athletic clothes and sneakers.
