Handy Bandy Clean-up Day 2020
Join us for the annual Friends of Bandy Field Work Day! Help us clean up this wonderful park in the West End of Richmond. We'll be cutting down vines that harm the trees, cleaning up debris, and other odd jobs.
The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is helping the Friends of Bandy Field, Inc., recruit volunteers for this event. Friends of Bandy Field is a community organization made up of supporters of the preservation and beautification of Bandy field, an 18-acre city park in West End Richmond located along Three Chopt Road, as a open, green space natural area for the enjoyment and passive recreation of the communities that surround the Park and for citizens throughout the City of Richmond. The Friends of Bandy Field works to keep any trash that may accumulate on the park from time to time picked up and to keep invasive plants from infesting and consuming the park's foliaged perimeter and the its 2-acre central woods.
Meet at the entrance to Bandy Field. Visit "My Account" after you've been confirmed for more detailed directions. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring a pair of work gloves if you have them.
Rain Date: Saturday, April 18th; if raining on "Rain Day" the event is cancelled.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:13+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
