Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2019

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Richmond was cancelled on October 20, 2019. We have rescheduled it for Saturday, November 9. We are in need of volunteers for various positions on this day. Volunteer at the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, a powerful event to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Dollars raised help the Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide comprehensive information and services, and ensure access to mammograms. Volunteers can expect to be assigned to one of the following tasks: event set-up/clean-up, event check-in, crowd control, cheerers/greeters, refreshments, route marshals, activities tent, water stations, information tent, mission, vip tent, merchandise tent, etc. Volunteers should report promptly to the volunteer tent for their shift. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, dress in layers, lift between 20 to 25lbs, and bring sun protection. Some positions may require a training prior to the event at a date that is to be determined in October. Light refreshments will be provided and additional food will be available for purchase.
