Help SOAR365 Distribute Holiday Magic in a Bag!
What’s a kit distribution event? 300 Holiday Party in a Bag kits containing items such as snacks, holiday greeting cards, ornaments, art supplies, and parent gifts have been assembled and are ready for distribution to the children and families we serve. Families have been invited to drive up to the SOAR365 entrance to collect their kits. Family members will not need to exit their vehicles. Using an RSVP list, volunteers will check off names as individuals arrive, distribute their kits and individually selected books, and wish them a happy holiday – simple!
What difference will these kits make? At SOAR365, more than 600 babies and children are enrolled annually in our Pediatric Therapy Program which provides early intervention services for children under age three as well as outpatient therapy for children from birth through school age. At least 50% of our families meet federal poverty guidelines and 20% speak English as a second language. Each year, SOAR365 hosts a Holiday Party that provides our families with the opportunity to socialize, enjoy healthy refreshments, engage in child-friendly craft activities, and take a photo with Santa. Each child also receives a new developmentally appropriate book to promote at-home reading and interaction between parent and child. Due to the pandemic, programming transitioned to telehealth services on March 16 and the annual holiday party has been cancelled. These kits are designed to capture a bit of the Holiday Party magic in a bag!
