Junior Naturalist (Ages 15-18) – 2021 Maymont Summer Camps

Join Maymont’s Environmental Education team to support 2021 summer camp programs! Students age 15-18 are encouraged to apply for by May 21st
The Junior Naturalist Program is a competitive volunteer opportunity for outstanding students ages 15-18. Junior Naturalists work side-by-side with Maymont Environmental Education staff teaching younger campers about our natural environment, assisting with story time and lessons, and preparing crafts, activities, and experiments.
Time Commitment:
Junior Naturalist program participants are expected to be able to dedicate a minimum of 5
consecutive days for M-F camps or 8 hours for single day camps to service in the
Environmental Education department. 2021 summer camps schedules can be found here:
Interested students must submit:
A Maymont volunteer application (maymont.org/support/volunteer);
A one page cover letter detailing why they are interested in this program as well as why they would be a good fit for the program;
One reference letter from a teacher, employer, coach, or other volunteer supervisor.
