Holiday Parade Assistant for Adults with Disabilities or Special Needs

Volunteers are needed to help adults with disabilities participate in the annual Kiwanis' Ashland Old Time Holiday parade in downtown Ashland, VA.

Volunteers help with set up of float, help participants onto float, keep energy level going throughout parade route (singing, waiving to the crowd), help with our mascot Taylor the Chipmunk, as well as help with quick clean up at close of parade.

Due to limited space on the float, volunteers may need to walk in the parade (about a mile in length).  Parade starts on Snead Street in Ashland. Parade finishes at Gandy Elementary on Archie Cannon Drive in Ashland. Parking not permitted in the staging area.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather. Once float assignments are determined, we will send you exact location of our float.
