ArborDayRVA 2022
Join the Arbor Day celebration, happening Saturday, Oct. 15th - Sunday, Oct. 23rd! We're bringing the community together at a variety of different events happening throughout the city - from tree plantings and giveaways, to educational events and tours of our green spaces. Our hope is to spread awareness of all the fantastic organizations, community groups, and City departments, whose mission is to increase and maintain our urban canopy, as well as inspire the next generation of urban and community forestry advocates.
Reforest Richmond - Tree Giveaway Station

Description:
What would ArborDayRVA be without a FREE tree giveway?! We are looking for volunteers to help hand out tree seedlings at our Tree Giveaway Station. There will have a variety of different regionally native species available, in 2.5qt - 3 gal pots. Volunteer duties will include helping community members select their seedling, answering questions about ArborDayRVA, pointing folks to the online planting instructions, helping load seedings into vehicles if needed, as well as general setup/breakdown duties. No prior experience or special skills necessary, though some light lifting (max. 30lbs), bending, and stooping may be required.
The Tree Giveaway Station will be located outdoors, in front of MLK Middle School. Please be aware of the weather forecast, and dress accordingly (this event is RAIN or SHINE). Volunteers may want to bring a water bottle and snack, as well as sunscreen if needed.
Other Information:
- Volunteer hours will be verified within 48hrs after the end of the event, though the HandsOn Greater Richmond website
- If arriving by bicycle, there are bike racks available in front of the school building

- If arriving by vehicle, parking will be available in the school's parking lot. Car pooling is HIGHLY encouraged (Happy Arbor Day!)
