Invasive Plants Removal
The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is committed to being a responsible steward of the lands under our care. This includes the control of vigorous non-native vegetation that may threaten our native flora. Volunteers will be removing English ivy and other non-native plants that are invading our Woodland Garden. Volunteers will be working in a woodland setting outdoors and should dress appropriately and be prepared for common woodland hazards, including poison ivy. Please wear sturdy footwear, work gloves, and bring whatever food and beverages you will need for the day. Park anywhere and meet in the Robins Visitor Center Atrium. The project will be cancelled in the event of rain or if the ground is snow-covered and you will be notified. Registration will close at 12 noon on Friday, January 12. This project is a part of MLK Day of Service.
