Operation Paintbrush Volunteer Leader Needed
HandsOn is recruiting a Volunteer Leader specifically for recurring project we have with the Henrico County Department of Community Revitalization. Our Volunteer Leader program consists of a group of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers who we train to lead projects in the community, exponentially increasing the reach of volunteerism in our region! You can make a difference every month by exploring a community need and leading others in service, all while learning new skills, getting access to special professional development opportunities, and interacting with fellow leaders in meetups and socials year round. The project is once per month, on Saturdays from 9 am to approximately 2 pm, and you'd commit from June 2017 - June 2018, with the option to renew your term if you'd like at the end! The project is this: Henrico County Department of Community Revitalization coordinates the County’s programs and services intended to promote healthy, vibrant, and attractive residential, commercial and industrial communities. Operation Paintbrush is designed to paint homes for qualified low-income citizens in order to make the County a better place to live. Volunteers assist with this program by painting the exterior of homes and providing additional external beautification (such as raking or cleaning windows) as needed. Technical skill is not required and volunteers will receive a quick tutorial prior to painting.
